Hot Shot

Hot shot loads are small, time-sensitive loads that cannot wait for a trailer to be filled before it is delivered. Hot Shot loads are often moved locally but can be moved across state or country if necessary. These loads should not be considered expedited loads, even though they are similar. A hot shot load may be transported on any type of trailer. In many cases, these shipments are made on flatbeds because a large piece of equipment is being moved from job site to job site and has to be moved fast to prevent a stop in productivity. However, hot shot loads can be moved in any type of trailer, including dry vans and reefers.

We Accept Hot Shot Loads

Many trucking companies do not accept hot shot loads. These loads are often posted to trucking job boards across the country in hopes that an independent driver will grab the load and move it quickly. While this is an effective way to manage these loads, it does not guarantee that the shipment will be made on time. The problem with relying on job boards to move a hot spot shipment is that you have to hope that the right driver sees the posting. If no one is in that area who will move a hot shot load, or if the time does not agree with their other shipments, these loads are left on the board.
